How to Measure for New Countertops

Make a Simple Sketch with a Few Measurements of Your Kitchen Cabinets, Bathroom Vanities

If you’re wondering about the cost to replace kitchen countertops, you’ll need to give us a few measurements first. When you’re ready to replace kitchen countertops or bathroom countertops, we’re here to help. We only need a drawing with measurements to give you an estimate for a countertop material of your choice like quartz countertops or butcher block countertops.

Give us a drawing for your new countertops estimate

Start by drawing your current countertop sections in rectangles. Next, measure the lengths and widths in inches and write them down on your sketch. Make sure to indicate sink and appliance locations. Include backsplashes if you want them. An average splash is about 3-4″ high and a full-height splash measures up to the bottoms of your upper cabinets. This short video shows you how to prepare measurements for a basic estimate:

Also, let us know if you’ll need removal and disposal services for your old countertops.

When you’re done measuring, simply email the drawings to us at karla@switacabinetry.com and call us for an appointment at 715-693-2670.

Popular countertops include:

  • Cambria Quartz
  • Natural Stone: Granite, Soapstone, Marble
  • Solid Wood butcher block countertops
