Kitchen Remodel: How One Customer Used Her Design Skills to Get the Perfect Cabinet Color

As a wedding planner, Kasey is known for creating magical moments for brides. Recently, she utilized her design skills to transform her kitchen into a culinary oasis, focusing on calming, neutral tones inspired by nature.

Impeccable Customization

One of the standout features of Kasey’s kitchen remodel is the use of maple custom cabinets by Swita Cabinetry of Mosinee. From the start, she envisioned the cabinet’s subtle creamy white stain with a translucent effect. To achieve the perfect look, she experimented with different colors, testing them on maple boards. Once satisfied with the sample, she shared it with the cabinetmakers as a guide. Working with a custom cabinet shop allowed for exclusive color matches, resulting in a one-of-a-kind product. Further, the arched pantry door, which serves as a stunning focal point, was finished to match the maple cabinets. Kasey’s influence can be seen throughout the cabinetry, from the careful selection of materials and beautiful finish to the thoughtful design layout and stylish accessories. “I’m obsessed with the cabinets, and we have gotten so many compliments on them,” she says.

Quartz Countertops for Elegance and Low Maintenance

To add elegance and functionality to her kitchen, Kasey chose quartz countertops in the stunning Torquay design by Cambria. This choice enhances the modern appeal of the kitchen while ensuring durability and resistance to everyday wear and tear. The smooth and sleek surface of the countertops imparts a luxurious feel to the comfortable kitchen. Furthermore, Cambria quartz is stain and scratch-resistant, as well as nonabsorbent, preventing moisture from raw or leftover food. The brand also offers a lifetime warranty, adding to its excellent benefits.

Timeless Tile Backsplash

Completing the kitchen remodel is the addition of opulent Zellige (pronounced zell-eezsh) 4×4 tiles that beautifully complement the countertop’s light gray and taupe colorways. The Moroccan Habitat Canvas pattern adds depth and texture to the walls, with each tile being hand-molded, hand-cut and hand-glazed, resulting in a truly unique appearance. Zellige, originally made in Morocco, is a variety of glazed terracotta tile kiln-fired over olive branches. Each tile showcases vibrant colors and delicate textures, creating a unique tapestry. Moreover, the finished surface provides a relaxed and visually pleasing backdrop.

Sleek and Coordinated Details

Kasey opted for a fitted white range hood with maple banding that matches the cabinets to maintain cohesiveness. This choice seamlessly ties in with the custom cabinetry, adding an element of sophistication. Additionally, the simple matte black linear cabinet handles provide a contrast, supporting the modern theme.

From creating dream weddings to designing her dream kitchen, Kasey infuses style and grace into everything she does. Her new kitchen is the perfect space to indulge her culinary passions when she’s not busy designing floral arrangements or styling venues.
